Samsung announced that it’s now committed to three years of major OS updates for all of its flagship phones, starting with the Galaxy S10 series. You can expect Samsung to bring Android 12 to its flagship devices first though older flagships, mid-range devices, and budget devices shouldn’t be too far behind. That means devices like the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 will get left behind. Google has released its latest big update called Android 11 “R”, which is rolling out now to the firm’s Pixel devices, and to smartphones from a handful of third-party manufacturers. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra, and S20 FE are in line to get Android 13 in the future. Samsung has promised three years of Android updates to all Galaxy S10, Galaxy S20, and Galaxy S21 variants in the Galaxy S series.As for the Galaxy S10 series, you can expect Android 12 to be its last update. Thankfully, Android 11 now gives more control over privacy and security to users than ever before.When you first install an app, Android 10 will ask you if you want to grant the app permissions all the time, only when you’re using the app, or not at all. But Samsung will support them for 2 more years (atleast 1) by providing security updates or Bug fix/patches. They’ll not get major update now onwards.
